How often should I seal my driveway?

A new driveway should be sealed after one year. After your driveway has been sealed for the first time it is recommended to seal it every two to three years. There are many factors to consider when deciding how often to seal. How much traffic the pavement receives, the weather conditions, and what application methods were used when applying the sealer, all are things that can affect its longevity.

What does seal coating do?

Seal coating is a preventive measure designed to help protect your asphalt investment. The harsh affects of gas, oil, salt and sun oxidation will deteriorate your asphalt over time. Incorporating a systematic program of seal coating and asphalt maintenance every two to three years will extend the life of pavement up to 300%! While protecting your pavement, the sealer also provides an attractive “like-new” appearance that will increase your property value and keep your property looking first class.

When is my scheduled sealcoating day?

Due to the weather sensitive nature of our business we cannot set appointments for driveways, when you call to schedule we will let you know the approximately when we are scheduling for then call you 24 hours prior to let you know we will be coming to seal your driveway.

I have oil stains on my driveway, will they be gone?

We will prime any oil spots with our commercial grade oil spot primer. If you have severe or fresh oil stains we recommend that you clean them 24 hours before we arrive with powdered laundry detergent, a stiff brush and a hose. Try to get them as clean as possible, we cannot guarantee severe stains will not bleed through. You should always clean any spills off your driveway immediately to prevent damage to the asphalt.

Do I need to turn my sprinklers off?

Yes, make sure they are off the day before we come, leave them off for 48 hours. If your neighbor has a sprinkler system that sprays onto your driveway you should ask them to shut their system off the for the same amount of time.

My gutter drips, my water shut off valve leaks, will that ruin the sealer?

Yes, it will also cause wet sealer to splash onto the house or garage, you should have these things repaired prior to us sealing the driveway, or provide a way to catch the water that is dripping, we cannot be responsible for any damage caused by these problems.

Do we have to be there when you seal the driveway?

No, if you are not going to be at the location, make sure that no vehicles will be parked there and everything has been removed from the area to be sealcoated.

What if it rains on my scheduled day?

We will call to reschedule you for our next day out.

Is it too hot or too cold to seal my driveway?

We do work when it’s hot out and as long as it’s above 50 degrees it is ok to seal the driveway.

What should I do with the cardboard cones?

The cardboard cones are disposable. When you’re ready to drive onto the driveway, simply remove the cones and dispose of them. If you have rubber orange traffic cones we will be by to pick them up within a week.

How long before I can use my driveway?

We recommend that you don’t walk on the driveway for 24 hours and do not drive any vehicles on it for 48 hours.

When is payment due?

Payment is due upon completion, if you are not home we will leave an invoice and payment is expected promptly. We accept cash or check.
